An iconic local restaurant chain is planning to celebrate its birthday by offering customers a delicious treat.
Portillo’s, which will turn 55 years old on April 4, will offer customers a slice of its signature Famous Chocolate Cake for just 55 cents when it celebrates its special day next month.
In order for customers to get the discounted cake, they must purchase an entrée, and the deal is only available to drive thru or dine-in customers, the chain announced in a press release.
The chain has made waves with its cake before, selling an extremely popular lemon cake last summer and a heart-shaped cake for Valentine’s Day this year. They also have gotten into the habit of offering big discounts on food, including $1 hot dogs on National Hot Dog Day.
