Pork & Mindy's Reportedly Files for Bankruptcy, Closes Locations

The chain deleted its social media accounts and has shuttered its Chicagoland locations

According to multiple reports, the popular restaurant chain Pork & Mindy’s has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection and closed all of its locations.

Several Pork & Mindy’s locations, including sandwich shops in Bucktown, The Loop, and Wrigleyville, are now closed after reports emerged Monday that the chain had filed for bankruptcy protection.

The chain’s social media accounts have been deleted, and ordering services all indicate that the chain has closed its locations.

Crain’s Chicago Business and the Chicago Tribune both report that the company, which had just inked a deal earlier this year for a partnership with the Mariano’s grocery store chain, has filed for bankruptcy protection, scuttling the deal with Mariano’s.

The deal would have seen the restaurant open locations in 20 different Mariano’s stores, but the grocery chain has confirmed that Pork & Mindy’s locations that were open as part of the deal have also closed up shop.

The original Pork & Mindy’s location in Bucktown closed earlier this year.
