Chicago Pop-Up Bar to Celebrate Krampus, Santa's Frightening Counterpart

DMen Tap in the Avondale neighborhood will transform itself into a Krampus-themed pop-up bar

Chicago has all kinds of themed pop-up bars to get you in the holiday spirit including ones inspired by the popular movies "Elf?" and "Christmas Vacation."

But there's also a place for folks who haven't been on their best behavior this year.

Starting on Dec. 5, DMen Tap in the Avondale neighborhood on the city's Northwest Side will transform itself into a Krampus-themed pop-up, in honor of the mythical character from European folklore that spends the holidays looking to punish children who haven't been so good.

Bargoers will be able to taste unique eats like goat kebab and even enjoy "Fist of Krampus," a Krampus-themed beer made by Revolution Brewing, according to DMen Tap's Facebook page.

The pop-up bar opens at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, and goes through Dec. 23.
