Chicago police are warning residents of several South Side neighborhoods to be on the lookout after a series of violent robberies that took place at the end of September.
In a community alert issued on Sunday, police say that three different robberies took place between Sept. 27 and 29.
In each of the crimes, which took place in the city’s Stateway Gardens, Bronzeville, and The Gap neighborhoods, multiple offenders walked up to victims, shoved them to the ground, and stole property from them before fleeing the scene.
In one of the incidents, the robbers fled in a four-door beige colored sedan.
The robberies have taken place:
- 0-100 block of East 35th Street – Sept. 27 at approximately 2:35 p.m.
- 3500 block of South State Street – Sept. 29 at approximately 8:41 a.m.
- 100 block of East 42nd Street – Sept. 29 at approximately 3:20 p.m.
Witnesses describe the offenders as black men between the ages of 18 and 27. Up to three different men have been reported to have participated in the crimes, with their heights ranging from 5-foot-4 to 6-foot-1 and their weights ranging from 120 to 170 pounds.

Police recommend that anyone who witnesses a crime, or is a victim of a robbery, to immediately call police and to try to remember as much information about the robbers as possible.
