Police Warn of Armed Robberies in Lakeview, Lincoln Park

Police issued a community alert after three armed robberies were recently  in the Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods in the last week.

In each incident, the robbers approached the victims on the street  and displayed a handgun before taking their belongings, according to Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred: 

- in the 1400 block of West Irving Park Road on Oct. 19 at about 2:20 p.m.
- in the 1300 block of West Henderson on Oct. 24 at about 6:10 a.m.
- in the 800 block of West Wrightwood on Oct. 24 at about 6:35 a.m.

In the first robbery, the offenders were described as black men between 20 and 30 years old, standing 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 and weighing about 150 pounds. One of them was wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, and the other wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, according to police.

There were three robbers in the incident on Henderson, and all of them were described as black men between 25 and 30 years old, standing about 6 feet tall and wearing baseball caps, police said.

In the final robbery, one offender was described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt who stood 6-foot to 6-foot-2 and weighed 160 to 170 pounds. The second offender was described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old, standing about 5-foot-7 and weighing 140 to 150 pounds. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, police said.
