Police are warning residents in Joliet of recent robberies that have taken place where the suspects are allegedly communicating with the victims via apps.
The Joliet Police Department sent out a warning on Facebook informing residents of multiple thefts that originate on apps such as Letgo, Offerup and others.
According to Investigators the problem isn't the apps, it's the suspects who are using the apps to take advantage of innocent people.
Officials say the suspects create fake profiles to entice the victim and then arrange to meet up at a particular location.
Authorities urge Joliet residents to be on the lookout.
