Police Searching for Man Who Bound Woman During Lake View Burglary

Police are searching for a man suspected in a terrifying burglary last month on Chicago's North Side.

On Feb. 25, the suspect bound a woman and burglarized her home in the 900 block of West George in the Lake View neighborhood, according to an alert from Chicago police.

Authorities said he entered the woman's apartment through the back door in the afternoon and stole a cell phone, car keys and computer while the victim was restrained.

She was not seriously injured, officials said, and was able to go to a neighbor for help after the intruder left.

A short time after the incident, a surveillance camera caught the burglar using the victim’s Ventra card at a CTA Brown Line station.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-3, 240-pound black man, thought to be in his mid-40s, police said. He was seen wearing blue jeans, a green parka, a green wool cap and tan work boots.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
