Police caution North Side taxi drivers after a pair of cabbies were robbed at knifepoint in separate incidents last week in Ravenswood and West Ridge.
In both incidents, a man pulled a knife on the taxi drivers after arriving at his destination, according to a business alert from Chicago Police.
The first robbery happened at about 6 a.m. April 19 in the 2800 block of West Ardmore, the alert said. It was carried out by a 6-foot-tall, 140-pound man who is between 18 and 25 years old, police said. He was wearing a blue hoodie and gray sweatpants and was carrying a brown satchel, police said.
The second incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. April 23 in the 2400 block of West Eastwood, by a man between 18 and 20 years old wearing a black baseball cap and a Chicago Bulls jacket, police said.
