Suspect Shot by Police in Chicago's Englewood Neighborhood

An unidentified suspect was shot by police Saturday afternoon after initially firing at officers in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood, police officials said.

The shooting occurred before 3:10 p.m. near the intersection of West 57th and Aberdeen streets. No officers were injured in the incident, according to a Chicago police spokesman.

The suspect, who was taken into custody, was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in unknown condition.
