A man sustained critical injuries in a police-involved shooting Friday evening in the Pullman neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side, according to a police spokesperson.
The shooting at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the area of East 113th Street and South Langley Avenue. According to Chicago police, officers responded to a call of a man with a gun. When they arrived, the suspect pointed the gun at officers, and at least one officer shot the suspect, authorities said.
Two guns and a knife were recovered at the scene, police stated.
Camera footage was being reviewed to determine what exactly led up to shots being fired.

An adult male was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson said. NBC 5 has yet to independently verify the police account of events.
COPA, Chicago's Civilian Office of Police Accountability, is leading the investigation into the shooting.
