‘Road Rage Altercation' Led to Shots Fired on Kennedy Expressway: ISP

Illinois State Police were investigating Tuesday after a driver’s back window was shattered by a bullet on the Kennedy Expressway, authorities confirmed.

The shooting occurred on the northbound ramp to Kimball Avenue about 10:45 a.m., state police said. The driver was not struck or injured in the shooting, according to police. Police said it was a possible “road rage altercation” between the victim and the suspect.

The vehicle driven by the man who shot at the other driver was reported as a light blue Mercedes Benz SUV, police said. He then exited at Kimball Avenue, according to police.

No other information was immediately available.

All traffic lanes were open after the investigation.
