Two firefighters were injured in a fire in the North Lawndale Chicago-area following a "mayday" call early Saturday morning, according to officials.
The Chicago Fire Department said the fire took place at 1921 South St. Louis Avenue.
Authorities said one of the firefighters was transported to Mount Sinai Medical Center in serious to critical condition, while the other was transported with minor injuries and is expected to be treated and released.
Officials said the fire was also contained.
