Police: Bullet Strikes Window of West Side School While Classes in Session

No students were in the area at the time of the shooting, and no injuries were reported

A bullet likely intended for a vehicle or its occupant struck a window at a West Side charter school Wednesday.

A window at Circle Rock Charter School in the 5600 block of West Washington was struck by a bullet fired from outside, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.

Early reports indicate the gunshot may have come from someone inside a vehicle who was firing shots at another vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported.

There were no students in the area near the window during the time of the shooting, according to Mike Kasing, director of communications for the school. Kasing said the students were not aware that the incident even happened, and staff made sure that everyone was safe.

Classes resumed as normal after the incident, according to Kasing.
