Two people were killed and another was hurt in a fiery single-vehicle crash early Sunday in the South Loop, police said.
An SUV struck a light pole in the 1200 block of South Clinton at 2:45 a.m., said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro. The SUV burst into flames after crashing.
A 42-year-old man and another person, whose age and gender has not been released, were dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the deaths but did not release more details Sunday morning.
A 26-year-old man was also taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
