An American Airlines 757 jetliner from Chicago slid of the runway at a Jackson, Wyo. airport Wednesday due to heavy snowfall, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
What may sound like a worst nightmare to some resulted in no injuries and no appearance of damage to the plane, according to witnesses at the site.
Flight 2253 from O’Hare, carrying 175 passengers and six crew members, arrived "off-road" at the Jackson Hole Airport shortly before 1 p.m.
A bus meet the passengers at the plane to take them to the terminal.
"American Airlines is in direct contact with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration,"the airline said in a prepared statement, according to the Chicago Tribune. "American Airlines will not speculate as to possible causes of the incident."
As of midnight, Jackson Hole has received up to seven inches of snow, according to National Weather Service reports.
