Police departments frequently ask the public for help in identifying alleged perpetrators through social media posts, but in this instance, a driver sought in connection with a road rage report may be the one in need of assistance.

The Plainfield Police Department posted an image of an unknown driver to its Facebook page on Wednesday, asking the public’s help in identifying him.

“The PPD is asking for help with the identification of the person in the photo,” police said. “We would like to speak with him (in) reference (to) a reported road rage incident.”

Here is the photo of the man police are looking for:

Within minutes, the comment section on the photo filled with people roasting the driver:

Even commenters on other threads got into the action:

If anyone has seen the now infamous driver, they are encouraged to call Detective Rich Meszaros at 815-439-7658 or to email the detective at rmeszaros@plainfieldpd.com
