“I would love for you to recognize the Sisters (and all the amazing staff) at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville. They have been on “lockdown” for several weeks now. Typically they have many, many volunteers to help with the daily needs. With the lockdown, we (volunteers) haven’t been able to be there. They are doing an amazing job and staying so positive for their residents. They have come up with ways for families to connect with their loved ones and are trying so hard to keep the morale of the staff up. Somehow they even find the time to send encouraging emails to us. They are amazing every day, but during these especially trying times, they are nothing short of miracle workers.”

“Shout out to my best friend, my boyfriend, Andy Gallagher! Works for one of the largest hospital networks in Illinois. It’s a happy and sad day, when you’re locked in, cleaning under sinks, and you actually get excited to find gloves and antibacterial wipes that he can take to work because of the shortage in supplies! Love him, proud of everyone working so hard to stop the spread! Thank you for recognizing everyone who is going the extra mile to make a difference!”

“This is my rehab team, PT/OT/SLP, that work at a nursing and rehab center (nursing home) in Chicago, Warren Barr Gold Coast. We aren’t getting nearly the recognition of nurses and doctors at this time. We are still busy working with the population most at risk, the elderly. We’re the ones they see everyday as their families and friends aren’t allowed in the facility during this time. We spend the most time with them each day. We’re the ones keeping their mobility going, making sure they keep going, strengthening, all while putting ourselves at risk as our supplies and PPE dwindle to nothing. The photo is from the holidays but it’s all of us.
