80-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition After Being Struck by CTA Bus in West Garfield Park

The incident occurred near the intersection of Madison and Pulaski

An 80-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a CTA bus on the city’s West Side Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, the man was crossing the street near the intersection of Madison and Pulaski when he was struck by the bus at approximately 3:36 p.m. in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood. 

Authorities say the bus was turning westbound onto Madison when it collided with the pedestrian. The man was not in the crosswalk when he was hit, according to police. 

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
