Man Struck by Blue Line Train Saturday Night

A man is in critical condition after being struck by a train at a CTA Blue Line stop on Saturday night.

According to Chicago fire officials, the incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. at the Kedzie-Homan stop in the city’s Homan Square neighborhood. A man fell on a the platform at the station and was struck by a train, and was taken to Stroger Hospital with a head injury.

The man is in critical condition, according to fire department officials.

The conductor of the train was also taken to the hospital, and is in good condition at Norwegian Hospital.

Power was shut down at the scene after the person was struck, and the CTA implemented a bus shuttle between the Halsted stop and the Cicero stop on the blue line, according to a press release.

Blue line trains are operating between O’Hare and the UIC-Halsted stop, and between the Cicero and Forest Park stops, according to the CTA.
