During a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Supt. Eddie Johnson said it may have been a targeted incident as they believe the shooter passed by a group of individuals and went directly to her; however, that is based on preliminary information.

She was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said, and was said to be undergoing surgery.

Authorities released an image of the offender, captured from nearby surveillance video, in hopes of identifying him.
