One person was rescued from an overnight apartment building fire in northwest suburban Lake in the Hills.
The fire broke out at 1363 Cunat Ct. Wednesday morning after midnight, according to a release from Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire District.
Lake in the Hills police officers arrived on the scene first and alerted residents about flames and smoke engulfing the three-story apartment building, officials said.
One person was rescued from a third floor balcony and taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin where they were listed in stable condition, officials said.
The fire displaced between 20 and 30 residents, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation Wednesday.
