Person Dies After Falling on Blue Line Tracks on West Side

A person died after falling on the Blue Line tracks Thursday morning on the West Side.

The Chicago Fire Department recovered the person on the tracks at the Kedzie-Homan station in the 500 block of South Homan just before 10 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

The person was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead, according to Chicago Police. It was not immediately clear if the person was struck by a train or made contact with the third rail.

Blue Line service was temporarily suspended between Halsted and Cicero, but trains were running normally again as of 10:10 a.m., according to the CTA.
