McPhee, Amos Miss Bears' Thursday Practice

Injury issues are still dogging the Chicago Bears, as three key contributors on their defense were all still absent from practice Thursday.

The list of the walking wounded was headlined by defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, who missed his second straight practice with a hip ailment. Goldman, who has a sack and a half and 37 total tackles this season, is just the latest Bears’ defensive lineman to go down with injury, as Mitch Unrein has been ruled out the rest of the season this week.

Safety Adrian Amos also missed the workout after being absent from the team’s game Sunday against the San Francisco 49’ers. Amos has been one of the highest-rated safeties in the NFL this season, according to Pro Football Focus, and his absence badly hurts a secondary that has struggled at times this season.

Linebacker Pernell McPhee was also out for a second straight day after suffering a hip injury in Sunday’s game. McPhee has battled injury concerns throughout his time with the Bears, but he could be at risk of missing just his second game of the season if he’s unable to play against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bears did have a new name on the injury report Thursday, as wide receiver Josh Bellamy missed the workout with an illness. Roy-Robertson Harris was limited for the second straight day with an ankle injury.

For the Bengals, their injury report was almost identical to Wednesday’s, with Geno Atkins surfacing on the report with a toe issue. Eight other players, including linebacker Vontaze Burfict and running back Joe Mixon also did not practice for the Bengals ahead of their game with the Bears.
