Peoria International Airport has reopened after a suspicious bag halted all flights and forced an evacuation at the airport.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s office gave the all-clear about 30 minutes after airport officials said no one was allowed into the building while authorities investigated the suspicious item.
The Peoria Journal-Star reported a woman was being questioned by the FBI and sheriff’s office officials after her baggage appeared to contain tubes of explosive material, a timing device and vials of liquid.
The woman was attempting to take a flight to Dallas Thursday.
The items, which were found during a routine x-ray screening of baggage, prompted the airport to be evacuated, according to the Journal-Star. All flights in and out of the airport were also delayed.
