Patrick Sharp Will Miss Friday Game vs. Blackhawks

Patrick Sharp is still out of the Stars’ lineup as he nurses a lower body injury

The Chicago Blackhawks will be looking to gain ground in the Central Division race on Friday when they take on the Dallas Stars, but they won’t have to face one of their former teammates in the game.

That’s because winger Patrick Sharp is still out of the Stars’ lineup as he nurses a lower body injury. According to the team, Sharp will miss at least two more games with the ailment, which he suffered Mar. 1 against the Nashville Predators.

The injury to Sharp will hamper Dallas’ offense a bit, as the winger has had a bit of success for the team against Chicago this season. In three games against the Blackhawks, Sharp has a goal and an assist for Dallas, which has won two of its three meetings with the defending Stanley Cup champions this season.

The Stars will also be without defenseman John Klingberg and defenseman Jordie Benn for the game, which will put either Dallas or Chicago ahead in the Central Division standings.

For the Blackhawks, they still will face at least one of their former teammates, as Johnny Oduya will be on the ice for Dallas, but they may end up facing a player that they traded away last summer. Stephen Johns has been recalled by the Stars because of the rash of blue line injuries, and he could very well slot into the lineup on Friday night.
