Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane Set to Make Preseason Debut

Neither player was on the ice for the team's preseason debut Tuesday

Chicago Blackhawks fans will get their first in-game glimpse of two of the team’s biggest stars on Thursday night, as Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are expected to suit up for a preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings.

The veteran duo will be joined by another young star, as Alex DeBrincat is also expected to play in the team’s second preseason game.

Toews, who scored 20 goals and dished out 32 assists in 74 games last season, has been skating with DeBrincat and Chris Kunitz in training camp, and both of his linemates are also expected to be in the lineup on Thursday.

As for Kane, he has been working with Nick Schmaltz and Brandon Saad, but it is unclear whether they will be on the trip to Detroit, as the Blackhawks will also play on Friday night in Ottawa against the Senators.

Defenseman Jan Rutta will not be playing in Thursday’s game, as he is day-to-day with a groin injury, according to the Blackhawks.
