Party at Quinn's House!

Gov. hosts holiday open house

The invite may not have come in the mail but Gov. Pat Quinn wants to know you're invited to a party at his house.

His first holiday open house Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. has one catch. It's in Springfield at the Executive Mansion.

The governor has had parties at the historic home before. He had a Halloween bash for trick-or-treaters and an Easter egg hunt at Easter.

Quinn inherited the governor's job in January after former Gov. Rod Blagojevich was charged with trying to sell President Barack Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder and Illinois lawmakers voted to remove him from office.

Quinn is running for a full term in the 2010 election. He faces Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes in the Feb. 2 Democratic primary.
