Lanes Re-Open on Bishop Ford After Suspicious Package Reported

Lanes on the Bishop Ford Freeway were shut down at 159th Street Wednesday after a suspicious package was reported on the roadway, authorities said.

Illinois State Police said a suspicious package was found on Interstate 94 at 157th Street. The southbound and northbound lanes on the roadway were shut down from 159th Street to 147th Street, police said.

ISP Trooper Woodrow Montgomery said the Cook County Bomb and Arson Team was called to the scene to investigate. It was later determined the "suspicious package" was "nothing more than a vehicle tracking device," Woodrow said.

All lanes were re-opened shortly after.
