Chicago police briefly pursued a vehicle on the outbound Dan Ryan beginning at 41st Street on Monday night.
The pursuit began near the scene of a separate vehicle fire in the outbound lanes of the Dan Ryan just after 4:20 p.m., officials said. That fire shut down multiple lanes of the highway before the pursuit began.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., the vehicle got back on the outbound Dan Ryan near 87th Street. It then merged onto southbound Interstate 57.
After the vehicle merged onto the interstate, police indicated that they had ended their pursuit just before 5 p.m.
Sky 5 was over the pursuit on the outbound Dan Ryan when the vehicle merged onto outbound Interstate 57 and escaped into traffic.
No further information on the incident has been released.
