1 Injured in West Side Porch Collapse

A porch collapsed Friday at a building undergoing demolition, police said

One person was taken to the hospital Friday in serious condition after a porch collapsed at a building on the West Side Friday morning.

The porch collapsed shortly after 9:30 a.m. at a building located at 1155 S. Albany Ave. which was under demolition, fire officials told the Chicago Tribune.

The incident took place in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

One person was seriously injured and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, and no information has been made available in regards to the person's age or gender.

Authorities are not sure whether the person was working at the building site.
