O'Hare Upgrades Include Charging Wall, ‘Chill Zone'

Chicago Aviation Commissioner Ginger Evans announced $3 million in improvements coming to the airport

O'Hare International Airport is upgrading its terminals to offer travelers better technology, food and seating.

Chicago Aviation Commissioner Ginger Evans announced $3 million in improvements on Monday. They will include a charging wall for mobile devices, a digital art wall, self-serve beer taps and better seating.

Food vendors including Starbucks and Frontera Grill will introduce technology to speed up service by allowing customers to order and pay while standing in line.

Evans told the Chicago Sun-Times there are also plans eventually to allow travelers to order by tablet or smartphone and have food delivered to gates.

Terminal 2 seating will be re-upholstered and rearranged to suit travelers' various moods and needs. That will include a "chill zone," a "waiting zone," a "dining zone" and a "market zone."
