Extra Security at O'Hare, Midway After Foiled Terrorist Attack

City officials can't say whether extra measures will cause delays

Travelers at O'Hare and Midway can expect additional screening Saturday following the failed terrorism attempt on a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight Christmas day.

The increased security is meant to ensure passenger safety, according to the U.S. Homeland Security Department's Transportation Security Administration.

Chicago aviation officials said they did not know whether the additional security would cause delays, according to the Sun-Times.
