Officials: Woman Dead, Two Others Wounded in Lincoln Square Stabbing

The incident happened near the intersection of Sunnyside and Leavitt

Three people were stabbed Monday afternoon — one fatally — during a domestic-related fight in the North Side Lincoln Square neighborhood, officials said.

The stabbing happened about 3:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Windsor, police said.

During a fight, a man armed with a knife stabbed a 20-year-old woman and another man of an unknown age, police said. Paramedics also transported a third person — a man, whose age also wasn’t known, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Jeff Lyle said.

The woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, Lyle said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office had not been notified Monday evening.

One of the men stabbed was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital with lacerations to his face, which were not thought to be life-threatening, authorities said. Lyle said the third victim, whose condition wasn’t known, was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.

Police said a person of interest was being questioned Monday evening.
