Oak Lawn Teen Charged After Spitting on Officer

Police say teen laughed, said "Gotcha!"

An Oak Lawn teen was charged with battery on Tuesday after allegedly spitting on police officer officer.

Tiffany N. Miller, of the 7000 block of West 87th Street, spat on the officer during the ride in an Oak Lawn squad car early Sunday morning, Oak Lawn Police Division Chief Mike Kaufman told the Chicago Tribune.

She was arrested on an outstanding warrant, the Oak Lawn Patch reported.

Miller, 17, was at the Advocate Christ Medical Center when she spat on hospital staff and cursed them. She was then taken into custody around 1:35 a.m.

Kaufman said Miller spat on the arresting officer during the mile-long ride to Cook County Jail. As the officer prepared to place a "spit hood" on her she spat twice more, hitting him on the top of the head and ear.

Police said Miller then laughed and said ‘Gotcha!’

Miller is in the Cook County Jail being held on $50,000 bail.
