A firefighter was injured and 25 people displaced after a fire ravaged an apartment building in the Pilsen neighborhood.
The fire broke out in the three-story apartment building around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of South Wolcott, fire officials said.
A firefighter suffered minor injuries in the event and was taken to Rush University Medical Center, but none of the residents were hurt, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.
A man who worked nearby used a forklift to help rescue a man from an upper window, according to Mark Nelson, a Chicago Fire official.
Firefighters spent about two hours putting out the blaze.
The Red Cross is assisting the 25 people left without a home.
Residents of the building said a cat and turtle are still missing, but a dog has been rescued.
