The Chicago Blackhawks routinely clean up in NHL All-Star voting, and the team’s fans will once again get their chance to go to the ballot box starting on Thursday afternoon.
Fan balloting, which can be found at NHL.com/vote, will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, and fans will get to pick the four captains of the teams that will take part in this year’s All-Star festivities in Los Angeles.
The format for the All-Star Game will be the same as last year, as four teams will play in a three-on-three tournament to decide the winning squad.
Last season, the Blackhawks had two players on the roster, as Patrick Kane was selected as the Central Division captain and Jonathan Toews was named to the team as a reserve player. Toews unfortunately was unable to participate in the game as he dealt with an injury, and he was replaced by Predators forward James Neal.
Florida Panthers winger Jaromir Jagr, John Scott, and New York Islanders center John Tavares were also selected as captains for the game, and Scott’s Pacific Division team ended up winning the tournament and its $1 million first prize.
Balloting will run through Jan. 2, after which the NHL will announce the captains for each of the four divisions.
