New Streeterville Bakery to Serve Alcohol Alongside Cupcakes

Molly's Cupcakes plans to open a second, boozy location in Streeterville in December

The soon-to-be boozy Target in Streeterville will get a new boozy neighbor by the end of the year in the form of a cupcake bakery.

Molly's Cupcakes plans to open its second Chicago location at 419 E. Illinois St., right next door to the new Target, which is slated to open Oct. 11. Like the Target store, the new cupcake shop is breaking with tradition and opting to serve alcohol alongside its sweet treats, according to Eater Chicago.

The bakery will serve its signature homemade center-filled cupcakes as well as signature cocktails, beer and wine, according to Eater. The first and only current location at 2536 N. Clark St. in Lincoln Park does not serve alcohol.

The new location is expected to open on Dec. 15, which is National Cupcake Day, Eater reported.
