A few new stores will open at Woodfield Mall this summer and fall, more than six months after the Schaumburg shopping center announced plans for a major renovation.
Ivivva athletica is set to open this summer, and Zara and Timberland are scheduled to open in the fall, according to mall officials.
The three new stores join Flight 23 at Footaction, Fly Zone at Kids Foot Locker, rue21 and SIX:02, which opened earlier this year.
The nearly $14 million "style evolution" includes modern updates and improved traffic flow for retailers and customers, according to the developer Audrey Thompson, regional vice president at Simon Malls.
As part of the renovation, much of the mall's brick features will be replaced and an additional elevator and two escalators will be added to the mall. The Grand Court will also receive a "contemporary and streamlined facelift," which is scheduled to be complete this fall.
The mall currently houses nearly 300 retail stores.
