A new Chicago sports museum will have city sports fans and foodies salivating.
The new museum, which will be located at Water Tower Place, is set to open in April and will be a “mecca” for all things Chicago sports, officials said.
Harry Caray’s Restaurant Group announced the new museum Wednesday and said the “high-energy complex” will also feature dining, entertainment, private event venues and retail.
“We’re excited to bring this new breed of dining, entertainment and retail to Chicago,” says Grant DePorter, HCRG CEO. “You won’t have to be a sports enthusiast to enjoy yourself, but for superfans like me, it will be nirvana.”
The 22,000 square-foot space will include Harry Caray’s 7th Inning Stretch and the Chicago Sports Museum, according to a release from Harry Caray’s.
The walls of the 250-seat restaurant and 60-seat bar will be covered with photographs from Harry Caray’s private collection and authentic sports memorabilia with a menu that offers a “spin on classic American comfort food.”
The 8,000 square-foot museum will “offer a highly interactive experience for visitors to explore the legends and lore of Chicago sports,” the release said.
The museum features five exhibits, from unraveled sports mysteries to “fan zones” to sports curses and player superstitions or rituals to a hall of legends.
