New Restaurant Aims to Bring Urban Dining Experience to Woodfield Mall

A new restaurant at Woodfield Mall will bring an urban vibe to the heart of the Chicago suburbs, the company announced Monday.

Kinfork will be located in the 13,000 square-foot space in the Schaumburg mall’s lower level by JC Penny and seat 450 people.

The rustic restaurant will have reclaimed wood floors and incorporate “classic American nostalgia” throughout to go with their wood-fired and house-smoked small and large dishes meant for sharing.

“We were approached with an incredible opportunity to create a large-scale concept at Woodfield Mall,” said Wine Not Hospitality proprietor Luke Johnson. “We’re breaking ground this week and can’t wait to transform the expansive space with the talented architecture firm, D+K Architects and Design. Diners, mall-goers and the local community are in for a treat when we open our doors.”

Johnson’s other endeavors include Arlington Heights-based BBQ restaurant and bar Rack House Kitchen & Tavern.

His next project, Kinfork, is a play on the word “kin” or family and was inspired by the word “kinfolk,” the company says.
