New Ikea Pop-Up Coming to Chicago With Free Meatballs and More

The location will feature an interactive exhibit that allows visitors to “step into rooms inspired by the new catalog"

An Ikea pop-up is coming to Chicago – and bringing with it some free meatballs.

The IKEA Inspiration Experience will open at 1714 N. Damen Ave. in the Bucktown neighborhood Thursday and will continue through Aug. 26.

The location will feature an interactive exhibit that allows visitors to “step into rooms inspired by the new catalog for a multi-sensory experience, complete with sounds and scents.”

It will include a “time machine” photo booth, trivia games and a special meatball bar with free meatballs, the company said.

The pop-up comes on the heels of the launch of Ikea’s 2019 U.S. catalog, and celebrates the company’s 75th anniversary.

“For 75 years we have been driven by the belief that furniture can be affordable without sacrificing principles of quality, design and sustainability,” Shideh Hashemi, Marketing Manager, IKEA U.S. said in a statement. “In our 2019 catalog, we are thrilled to introduce a multitude of exciting new products that stay true to our heritage, providing form and function that’s both easy on our wallets and our planet.”

The pop-up will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 23-25 and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 26.
