Employees Return to Aurora Plant After Deadly Shooting

No work was being done Monday, a spokeswoman for parent company Mueller Water Products said in a statement, but it was simply a day for employees to "seek counselling, be together, get information" and more. Read more here.

Funeral Services Set for 1 of 5 Victims of Workplace Shooting in Aurora

Trevor Melvin Wehner, 21, will be laid to rest Wednesday in Sheridan, Illinois. A visitation will take place from 2-7 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 7 p.m. at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd., located at 333 W. Church St., according to the funeral home. Terra Pinkard, whose husband Josh Pinkard was killed in the shooting, posted a long message to Facebook on Sunday, saying she learned of the shooting in a text message from him. Read more here. 

Aurora Police Give Update on Health of Officers Injured During Friday Shooting

All but one of the Aurora police officers injured in Friday’s fatal shooting at a local industrial complex have been released from area hospitals, the department said on Sunday. A total of six officers suffered injuries during the shooting, which claimed five lives and ended with the gunman being shot to death in a gunfight with police.

Autopsy Results Released for 3 Aurora Shooting Victims

Authorities released autopsy results for three of the five men who were shot to death during Friday’s rampage at a factory in west suburban Aurora. Officers responded at 1:28 p.m. to multiple calls of an active shooter at the Henry Pratt Company at 641 Archer Avenue, according to Aurora police. Gunman in Aurora Shooting Was Rejected for Concealed Carry Permit

Police say that the gunman in Friday's fatal shooting at an Aurora industrial complex purchased his gun legally, but that he was rejected for a concealed carry permit for the weapon. Gary Martin, 45, identified as the shooter by police, applied for an Illinois Firearm Owners Identification card in Jan. 2014. He was approved for that card, and applied to purchase a handgun, the same one used in Friday's shooting, in March of 2014. Read more here.

Six people are dead, including the alleged gunman, and five police officers were wounded following an active shooter situation at a sprawling industrial complex in Aurora.

Aurora police have confirmed that five police officers were also shot as they tried to get to the shooter inside the 29,000-square-foot building. All five have been transported to local hospitals, and a sixth officer suffered a knee injury. Read more here.
