Navy Pier Offers Free Rides on Dressed-Up Ferris Wheel For Halloween

Trick-or-treaters will get free candy across the pier

Navy Pier's Centennial Wheel gets into the Halloween spirit on Wednesday with its own special costume and free rides.

The first 1,031 pre-registered guests will get a free ride on the "HalloWheel," dressed in "Halloween-themed colors, lighting and images on the spokes, rim and center hub screen." The wheel runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Trick-or-treat starts at 3 p.m. across Navy Pier with complimentary candy from American Licorice Company and Mars Wrigley Confectionery at several stations through 7 p.m.

Nearly 40 participating shops and restaurants along the pier also will hand out candy.

Guests are asked to bring their own treat bags. Stop by the Guest Services Desk at the west main entrance inside the Fifth Third Bank Family Pavilion for a "passport" of candy collection points.

"For the safety and comfort of guests, Navy Pier strictly prohibits costumes that include weapons of any kind," Pier representatives said in a statement," and items resembling weapons, including but not limited to guns, knives and swords."
