Teen Beaten Outside Navy Pier, Officials Plan New Security Measures

Attack was second security incident over the weekend

A new policy forbidding unsupervised minors from visiting the state's most-visited tourist attraction wasn't enough to prevent a teen from being attacked late Sunday.

The teen was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after police say he was jumped by four other teens outside Navy Pier after 10 p.m. He was in good condition as of 6 a.m.

Navy Pier officials over the weekend said they were beefing up security following a Friday night brawl that ended with a pregnant woman injured and five people arrested. Part of the new security measures was a ban on all minors without adult supervision.

No one was in custody in connection with Sunday night's incident.

The PNC Bank Winter Wonderfest is being held at Navy Pier through January 11.
