Musuem selling prints of some of its historic photos and artifacts

Lovers of history can now own a piece of it.

The Museum of Science and Industry announced Wednesday that the public can purchase photographic prints of some of its historic photos and artifacts.

Among the collection of more than 190 photos for sale are depictions of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, watercolor scenes from the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair, aircraft from World War II then and now and portraits of some of the most memorable pieces in their collection.

“These images highlight the amazing history, architecture and iconic exhibits and artifacts that have made the museum what it is today,” Kathleen McCarthy, the museum’s director of collections, said. “We are so fortunate to have these striking and important photos of our collection and are delighted to be able to share them with the world. Throughout the coming months, we will be adding more images to this collection.”

Purchasers can buy prints as small as five-by-five inches for less than $20 or up to 24-by-36-inch fine art prints for almost $200.

The prints can be ordered through the museum's website.
