Mumford & Sons Sell More Tickets to Montrose Beach Show

The show was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but it was postponed to Friday due to heavy rain earlier in the week, which delayed construction of the stage

Mumford & Sons fans who were unable to attend the originally scheduled show at Montrose Beach Wednesday can still buy tickets for the rescheduled concert on Friday.

General admission tickets will be available throughout the day Friday at two box offices at Cricket Hill near Montrose Beach — one off Wilson Avenue and the other off Montrose Avenue — or online through the concert promoter JAM Productions. Tickets purchased at the box offices must be paid for with cash.

The concert was originally scheduled for June 17 but was canceled less than two hours before the gates opened because the stage was not fully constructed due to heavy rain earlier in the week. Mumford & Sons posted the news on their Facebook and Twitter pages Wednesday afternoon.

"We are so sorry," the band wrote. "We are absolutely gutted and more than a little frustrated - this is our biggest ever headline show away from home, so you can understand that for all the days not to be able to do a show, this one hurts the most."

Tickets purchased for Wednesday's concert will be honored Friday. Fans with tickets who are unable to attend the Friday show can receive a full refund through the ticket seller's website

If ticket holders cannot attend the Friday show but still want to see the band, they can attend the Mumford & Sons' "Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover" in Waverly, Iowa, this weekend, where their tickets will be honored.

The concert promoter encourages fans to bike or rent a Divvy to commute to Cricket Hill as there will be no parking at the venue

The closest CTA train stations are the Wilson Red Line and the Montrose Brown Line stops. The No. 78 Montrose bus, No. 81 Lawrence bus and No. 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus will also drop off fans near the concert venue.

Gates open at 3 p.m. for Friday's show, and the concert begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
