MSI to Honor 49 Indie Local Companies

MSI -- that's Marketing Support, Incorporated, not the Museum of Science and Industry -- is turning 50, and to celebrate, the Chicago-based integrated marketing, branding and advertising agency is throwing a big bash in early November. But the party isn't just for MSI: It's also honoring 49 other locally owned and operated movers and shakers, or "companies that have stood the test of time in the city that works."

The agency is also releasing a book saluting the aforementioned 50Fifty list, which include fixtures like Dinkel's Bakery, The Berghoff, Billy Goat Tavern, oh, and MSI itself. The commemorative tome "highlights business owners who have worked tirelessly to establish themselves in their respective industries, remaining independently owned and committed to giving Chicagoans, and the world, the best they have to offer." All of the companies will be presented a free copy of the book at a private event on Wed. 9 at Carmichael's Restaurant.

All in all, a rather generous way to share the spotlight and ring in officially becoming middle aged.
