Police in west suburban Oak Park are asking for the public’s help to find a 48-year-old woman who was last seen Saturday, Nov. 28.
Alicia H. Yaus, of the 500 block of Forest Avenue, was last seen at about 3 p.m. near Chicago and Harlem avenues, according to the village’s website. She was reported missing by her family early Sunday morning.
"Alicia, Alicia, we need you home," said Alice McMahon, Yaus' mother. "We love you honey, please please if you see this, please know we love you and we need you home."
Investigators said Yaus may have been in the vicinity of Harlem Avenue and 16th Street in Berwyn about two hours after the time she was last seen in Oak Park.
Authorities said they do not have any evidence to indicate foul play and are conducting a comprehensive missing person investigation.
Yaus was last seen driving a dark blue Volvo XC70 wagon with Illinois license plate A23 4609. Police issued an emergency missing person alert to law enforcement agencies across the Chicago area, including Dupage, Will, Lake and Cook counties.
"We've looked, police are looking," said McMahon. "They're being very diligent and thorough in their search for her but if anyone has any information about the whereabouts of my daughter, please, please let the police department know."
Yaus, a divorced mother of three, is described as 5-feet, 7-inches tall, 130 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
"It's the holiday season," said LaDon Reynolds, Oak Park Police Commander of Investigations. "Her children miss her so they just want her home safe and sound."
Investigators said Yaus has a tattoo of a Japanese animation character on the back of her neck. She may also be wearing prescription glasses.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Oak Park Police at 708-386-3800.
