Missing Indiana Teen's Body Found

The body of a Portage, Ind., teen missing since Thursday night has been found.

Amanda Bach, 19, was last seen leaving her home to visit a friend around 10 p.m. Thursday. Her car was found the next morning in Wheeler, Ind., which is near Hobart.

Friends and family, concerned about her whereabouts, tried to spread work of her disappearance through fliers and Facebook all day Friday.

Word that the Portage High School graduate's body had been found within three miles of authorities' focused search area came at about 3:45 Saturday.

Sgt. Larry LaFlower said the friend Bach was heading to visit is a person of interest because he is believed to be the last person who saw her. Police said that person was out of town Saturday.

Bill Bach said his daughter worked at Quaker Steak and Lube in Portage and planned to attend Indiana University Northwest.

"She's very outgoing and a kind individual," Bill Bach said before his daughter was found, according to The Times of Northwest Indiana . "She's got a heart of gold."
