Millennium Park landed on a list of the best public places in the United States.
The downtown park made the list that was compiled by The American Planning Association.
“Millennium Park is without question one of the most spectacular places in downtown Chicago,” the association said. It added that “on any given day or night, Millennium Park is a lively destination, with visitors exploring nearly every corner of the space.”
“The Great Places in America program recognizes streets, neighborhoods, and public spaces in the United States demonstrating exceptional character, quality, and planning—attributes that enrich communities, facilitate economic growth, and inspire others around the country," according to the APA.
Other public spaces that made the list include: Balboa Park in San Diego, Santa Fe Railyard in New Mexico, Hermann Park in Houston, the Flint Farmer's Market in Michigan, and the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado.
